Penelope Lindsay

My name is Penelope Lindsay. I’m a postdoctoral fellow in Dave Jackson’s lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. I obtained my PhD in Plant Biology at Cornell University under the mentorship of Maria Harrison.

I was born in New York City, but moved around as a kid, living in upstate New York and Florida. I was raised by artists with a passion for nature and social justice, which has inspired how I approach scientific inquiry.

During college, I became fascinated by plant cell and molecular biology, and how plants interact with other organisms at the molecular level. Over time, my interests shifted to developmental biology, and how cell-level processes control the dazzling variety of plant forms we see in nature.

When not in the lab, I love reading and making electronic music.
