Open Plant

Open Plant is a community lab project based out of Genspace, a community labspace in Brooklyn, NY. I have been happily involved with Open Plant since 2020, advising the group about molecular cloning strategies to produce insulin in Marchantia polymorpha. We use Marchantia because it is an easy to grow plant that has recently emerged as a model system, spurred in part by the OpenPlant initiative based out of Cambridge, UK.
